Our History

Shark Shredding, Inc. was founded in 2005 by business partners Brian Ciapinski and Jeff Dencek and is a local, privately-owned company in Mokena, IL. Brian and Jeff have worked over 40 years in the service industry, with extensive experience in solid waste management and recycling. This experience led them to open their doors and start an onsite shredding company, Shark Shredding. We are a trusted and community-focused company that offers our Clients a smart approach to efficient and economical shredding while promoting data security.

As our clients' additional needs emerged for document management and data security, Shark expanded their product portfolio to offer several new services such as offsite records storage, file scanning and digitizing, and hard drive and media destruction. Now named Shark Shredding and Document Management Services, Inc., we have grown from a one-truck operation into a multi-fleet, full-service document management company, providing our services throughout Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

In 2021, Shark celebrated their 15th anniversary. They credit their success from the loyalty and trust of their customers. They look forward to continuing their successful adventure for another 15+ years.
